The March 2025 update for the Alpha Cephei core rulebook has arrived, bringing visual improvements, rule clarifications, and the addition of handy reference sheets, ensuring a smoother and more immersive journey through the stars.
Enhanced Visuals in the Equipment Section
We’ve added new artwork to the Equipment chapter, specifically in the Armor and Weapons sections (pp. 66-69 and 78-79). These illustrations provide visual representations of popular armor options and key ranged and heavy weapons, making it easier for players to visualize their gear and immerse themselves in the game world.

Vehicles Also Got the Artwork Treatment
The section on Vehicles has been updated with six new artwork pieces showcasing popular vehicle items (pp. 94-95). Additionally, the vehicle table now clearly indicates which vehicles can mount optional weapons, and specific updates have been made to vehicles like the Submersible and Walker to ensure accuracy and balance.
New Summary Sheets for Combat
To assist both players and Referees, we’ve added Combat Summary and Space Combat Summary sheets at the end of the book. These reference sheets provide streamlined guidance during combat scenarios, facilitating smoother gameplay and quicker decision-making.

Rule Clarifications and Fixes
We’ve implemented several rule clarifications and fixes based on community feedback. To name a few:
- Clarified skill checks for Position in dogfights and space combat (pp. 115, 188).
- Provided guidance on multiple engineers acting simultaneously during space combat (p. 192).
- Made minor formatting and grammar corrections to improve readability.
Changelog of Version 2503
- In the Equipment chapter, several small fixes and clarifications were added to the Armor section on pp. 66-67. The section itself was expanded to make it easier to use, now spanning from pages 66 to 69. The table with the armor options was made more spacious and moved to p. 68; in addition, the section now has artwork to sample the most used options.
- Advanced Vacc Suit’s weight was fixed to 1 item (pp. 67-68).
- Leather armor was fixed to zero weight at TL10+ (pp. 67-68).
- In the Weapons section of the Equipment chapter, small clarifications were made in the description of both the Scattergun aspect and the Shotgun ranged weapon (now on pp. 71 and 76 respectively).
- Also in the Weapons section, new artwork was added on pages 78 and 79, depicting some the most used Ranged Weapons and Heavy Weapons. That expands the Weapons section, now spanning from pages 70 to 83.
- Still in the Equipment chapter, in the Vehicles section, the “Weapons” column in the table of vehicles now has an indication if a vehicle can mount weapons purchased separately (now on p. 91).
- Also in the Vehicles section, the Submersible was fixed to be able to mount support weapons as an optional (now on pp. 91 and 93).
- Additionally, the Vehicles section itself was expanded with 6 new artwork pieces (added on pages 94 and 95) sampling some of the most used items. The Vehicles section now spans from pages 90 to 95.
- The Walker was fixed to have a speed of 60 (now on pp. 89 and 91).
- Clarified the skill check for Position in dogfights ( now on p. 115).
- Clarified the skill check for Position in space combat for both ships and stations. One important fix is the removal of the word “Effect” (since the Position check doesn’t have a target number), focusing on the score from the check (now on p. 188).
- Clarified multiple engineers acting at the same time (now on p. 192).
- Added a Combat Summary sheet and a Space Combat Summary sheet at the end of the book.
- Other minor fixes and clarifications. A lot of formatting was cleaned up in preparation for an upcoming SRD and other stuff. =)
- The latest additions took the rulebook to a page count of 284.
